Trans Rights

The following is a collection of ideas or existing bills that we should get passed. Take note of what worked in one state, as it can be helpful to pass in another state, or potentially federal level!

• No discrimination against sex, gender, gender-expression, and race (Ex: New York's Equal Rights Ammendment, AKA Prop 1 )
• Define deadnaming and misgendering as discriminatory aces (Ex, Kelly Loving Act passed in 2025 https://leg.colorado.gov/bills/hb25-1312)
• Funding for government to perform sexual assault forensic exams (“Rape kits”). Often, evidence of sexual assault victims sits and is not investigated. Some places have a very strict time limit (72 hours) where the collection needs to occur.

• Protection for doctors providing out-of-state healthcare, and to protect parents helping their kid get out-of-state healthcare (https://legislation.nysenate.gov/pdf/bills/2025/A5480B). This includes gender affirming care, abortions, etc.
